The rooms and suites at The Observatory Hotel, Sydney are spacious, elegant, beautifully appointed and designed to meet the needs of the most fastidious guest.

The Superior Rooms have the comfortable, cosy atmosphere of a 'home away from home'. Elegantly appointed with mahogany custom-made furniture, each room features King or Twin beds and is decorated with the utmost attention to detail. Rich tapestry curtains, set off by rope tasselled tiebacks, provide the perfect backdrop for the antique-style breakfast table and down-filled armchair, while Colonial-style sash windows open to provide charming views of Observatory Hill and historic Walsh Bay.

The Junior Suites feature individual character, exceptional furnishings, spaciousness and elegant charm. Each features wood-panelled walls adorned with etchings of Australian native birds and botanicals, and original sketches of Sydney at the turn of the century. Junior Suites also have a relaxing sitting area, with sofa and armchairs within the same room. Many have balconies with views of the inner Sydney Harbour of Walsh Bay, Darling Harbour or the city.

The Execuitve Suites are renowned for their classic elegance, exquisite fittings and intimate charm. All Executive Suites feature separate sitting rooms, with full bar facilities. Many of them feature domed ceilings, arch windows and traditional four-poster beds. Many also have balconies with charming views of Observatory Hill, or the inner Sydney Harbour of Walsh Bay and Darling Harbour with its beautiful sunsets.

Galileo Restaurant is Sydney's leading five-star hotel restaurant. Offering an exciting cuisine based on a traditional French style with a Japanese influence.
Open for breakfast from 6.30am to 10.30am and dinner from 6.30pm every Tuesday - Saturday.

The Globe Bar serves light meals daily from 12.00 noon to 12.00 midnight, Monday to Saturday; and 12.00noon to 10.00pm, Sundays.
An afternoon tea is severed daily in the Globe Bar from 3pm.

Directions From Kingsford Smith Airport to The Observatory Hotel:

* Depart the terminal and turn right onto Airport Drive. Travel along Qantas Drive onto Joyce Drive and then onto General Holmes Drive.
* Turn left onto Mill Pond Road.
* Travel onto Southern Cross Drive. Travel along this drive for around five minutes.
* Veer into the right lanes on South Dowling Street before entering the Eastern Distributor.
* Travel along the Eastern Distributor for five minutes looking for the City North Exit.
* Take City North Exit (Toll of approx AUD 3.50 will need to be paid).
* Turn right onto Macquarie Street.
* Turn left onto Bridge St and follow this road until you reach George Street.
* Turn right onto George Street and left up the hill to Grosvenor Street.
* Turn left onto York Street at the top of the hill.
* Take the first right into Jamison Street and then turn right into Clarence Street.
* Stay to the left and turn right onto Kent Street (This is signposted. Be aware if you miss this exit you will travel over the Harbour Bridge
* Travel 300 meters down Kent Street. The Observatory Hotel is on the left, opposite the Miller’s Point Tennis Court.
