Ideally located for visiting the truly charming surroundings, Woodlands Hotel is a short walk from Bowness and a host of activities on Lake Windermere, where you can also take a trip on the old steamboat and visit the Steamboat Museum. The World of Beatrix Potter is a popular visitor attraction and a vehicle ferry can take you across the lake to the author’s home at Near Sawrey.

Doubles, four-poster rooms, family, triple and twin rooms are available. Open all year round, you can make use of off-road parking and a bar and residents’ lounge where you can relax with a drink. Breakfast is served in a light and airy dining room.

Woodlands Hotel is situated close to Windermere village centre and a short stroll from Bowness village and the lake. The family-run hotel has 15 fabulous, totally refurbished bedrooms and bathrooms, a cosy bar and lounge and hearty Lakeland breakfasts.

The hotel is situated a short stroll from the shops, bars and restaurants of Windermere and Bowness. Windermere is ideal to use as a base to explore the large and beautiful surrounding areas, including Ambleside, Grasmere and Hawkshead. By road:
- Take junction 36 off the M6 and follow the A590 past Kendal to where it joins the A591 to Windermere.
- At Windermere follow signs for Bowness along the A5074.
- The Woodlands Hotel is on the left hand side of the road half a mile before the police station.

By Rail: The nearest West Coast mainline station is Oxenholme, The Lake District from where you can travel direct to Windermere. We are happy to collect you from the station when possible.
