The Somerville Hotel - Silver Award

The Somerville has undergone a massive programme of refurbishment over the last few years, resulting in guest accommodation with a real boutique-hotel feel.

Centrally located, the Somerville is close to the harbour, town centre, beaches and places of entertainment. All guests are offered free parking in the hotel’s own car park.

The Somerville has 10 bedrooms, all of which have been subject to substantial refurbishment. The aim has been to create a hotel with a real boutique feel that redefines seaside chic. All of the rooms have been individually designed to maximise the comfort of our guests. Antiques, original art work and rich, soft furnishings all combine to produce a very original, small establishment.

The Somerville is ideal for couples and families seeking a relaxing break. Great attention has been paid to detail, with the aim of providing a real taste of luxury at an affordable price. For leisure visitors, breakfast service is extended at the weekend to ensure a more leisurely start to the day.

Considerable thought has been given to business users. Early breakfasts, late check ins. (please arranged this beforehand), and free Wi-Fi access are provided.

The central location and car park mean that guests can abandon their cars for the duration of their stay and discover the area on foot or else use the Somerville as a base from which to explore other parts of Devon such as the legendary Dartmoor or the beautiful South Hams.

The Somerville is part of the Green Tourism Business Scheme and has been given a Silver award. The team is truly committed to sustainable tourism and, local suppliers as well as ethically produced goods are used. Energy consumption and the production of waste are reduced.

Breakfast times are extended at weekends until 09:45, so that our guests can enjoy a weekend lie in.

We do not accept group bookings such as stag or hen parties. We regard a group to be in excess of 2 people.

If a booking is made which is subsequently revealed to be a group booking or part of a group booking, it will be terminated without refund.

Smoking is not permitted inside the building.

We do charge for the use of credit cards. For amounts up to 100 the
charge is 1.50. For amounts over 100 the charge is 3.00. We do not
charge for use of debit cards.
