Area information
With its Victorian architecture, cobbled lanes and leafy avenues, Glasgow's West End is a vibrant and cosmopolitan district situated a few miles from the city centre, and easily reached by bus or underground. The mews and lanes of the city’s bohemian West End are a treasure trove for anyone hunting antiques and rare books, while art and museum lovers can enjoy the Kelvingrove Art Galleries and Museum. The hub of life in this part of the city is Byres Road, running between Great Western Road and Dumbarton Road, filled with boutiques.

By Car (from Glasgow Airport):
- Take the M8 motorway heading for Glasgow city centre and then take the Clyde Tunnel junction.
- Once through the tunnel, follow the city centre slip road, then the signs for Partick/Meadowside.
- After following Byres Road for about 0.5 miles, you will see the Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor hotel on your left.
- The 10 mile journey will normally take 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic.
Directions from Glasgow Prestwick International Airport
- From the airport follow the A77 to Glasgow.
- Take the M8 as far as Glasgow city centre.
- Exit the motorway at junction 17 and keep to the right.
- Follow the Great Western Road for about 2 miles until the junction with Byres Road.
- At this junction, turn left onto Byres Road and you will see the Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor hotel.
- Expect the 33 mile drive to take about one hour.
By Underground (from Glasgow Central Station):
- From Glasgow Central Station, walk 5 minutes to Buchanan Street station from where you take the underground to Hillhead station (a 10 minute journey).
- Get off at Hillhead, exit the station, turn right and walk approximately 400 yards along Byres Road to the Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor hotel.
- The whole journey should take around 20–25 minutes.
