Just a 10-minute walk from Edinburgh Castle, located at the top of the Royal Mile, the Herald House Hotel is less than 1-mile from Princes Street’s shops and gardens. A 24-hour front desk and laundry facilities are provided at this bed and breakfast.

Haymarket Rail Station is a 5-minute taxi journey away and Edinburgh international Conference Centre can be reached after a 15-minute walk. Murrayfield Stadium is 1.5 miles away and Edinburgh Zoo is less than 10 minutes’ drive from Herald House.

A buffet breakfast is served in the dining room and guests can relax with a drink in the lounge area.

A TV, tea and coffee facilities and a hairdryer are included in each simply decorated room. All rooms have a compact private bathroom with a shower.

Hotel information

* The Herald House is located in the Fountain Bridge area of the city which is only a two minute walk from the Edinburgh International Convention Centre and 15 minutes walk to Princes Street and Edinburgh Castle.
* Haymarket sation is also just a seven minute walk from the hotel.
* Check in is at 3pm and Check out 11am - although luggage can be left at any time of the day.
* Due to the many restaurants in the area the hotel only offers a breakfast operation, although a small lounge area is open from 5pm serving beverages and snacks for our guests.
* Please note that the Herald House is a Non-smoking hotel and no smoking is permitted in the public areas and guest bedrooms.

Room information

All bedrooms are of a comfortable two star standard. We have a mix of singles with single bed, twins with two single beds in the room, doubles and family rooms. The rooms are located on three floors, some facing the front of the hotel and some the back of the building.

Travel information

The hotel is located in the Haymarket district of the city centre, close to the West End. From Haymarket walk up Morrison Street towards the eicc. Just before this take a right into Grove Street. The Hotel is located 500 yards on the right at the end.

Important information

The hotel does not accept American Express cards.

Please note that parking in Grove Street is possible between 18:00 and 08:00.
