Area information
This hotel is a perfect base from which to explore Scotland's tourist trails. At the heart of castle and whisky country, where we have more castles per acre than anywhere in the UK (nearly 300). The main castle trail takes in 11 of the finest examples of Scotland's building heritage, including royal residence Balmoral Castle.
Once you have completed the castle trail, a stone's throw away is the World's only malt whisky trail situated in Morray, a route which takes in 8 of Scotland's finest malt whisky distilleries. Stroll along the North East scenic coastal trail, taking in many of the picturesque and beautiful villages.
The Grampian area offers a multitude of sports and leisure pursuits from the excellent golf courses (over 50 to choose from, with the most famous being the Royal Aberdeen Golf Club) to the superb fishing on the rivers Dee, Spey and Devron. Venture into the naturally majestic environment of the mountains, forests and rivers, where you can participate in activities ranging from skiing, cycling, canoeing, shooting, off-road driving, gliding, diving and rafting.
Visit Aberdeen city (Europe's oil capital), rich in history from its maritime past of boat building and fishing industries, nowadays modernised with the growth of the oil and gas industries. From art galleries, museums theatres and shopping venues, you will find something to suite every taste in this diverse multicultural city.
