At our hotel some things are more personal than elsewhere. You'll first notice it when looking for your room: all 15 cosy rooms have names rather than numbers. All have been gently refurbished and some have a balcony with comfortable deckchairs. What is more, each room offers you a wonderful view of the famous Bernese Alps. And, at night, the daily flurry of activity gives way to dreamy silence.

Our hotel was recently awarded the quality label class II by the Swiss Tourist Board. It is a guarantee, among other things, that we run our hotel according to strict ecological principles. And we do so, not because it is a requirement, but because we cannot imagine running it any other way. Mother Nature makes us the most fabulous gifts and it is imperative that we do our best to preserve them.

A glance into the kitchen confirms it. Mama is the heart and soul of our kitchen. Rosmarie Bieri is passionate about her cooking and you'll notice it with every mouthful. Be it regional specialities such as the organic trout from the Blausee, seasonal food, light dishes or hearty fare, Rosmarie Bieri never buys processed food stuffs and prefers to use fresh local produce. She conjures up almost everything from A-Z with the help of the good elves in her kitchen. No wonder Karl Bieri serves her creations with pride and pleasure. Staff can also recommend excellent wines to accompany your meal.
