Area information
The beautiful city and province of Almeria is situated at the foothills of the Sierra de Gador and offers an array of things to do and see during your time here.
From a visit to the Alcazaba, an Arab fortress built in the 10th century, to a day at the Desierto de Tabernas a ‘spaghetti western’ theme park which has been the film set for a number of western classics (30 km), or visit the Alpujarra Almeriense with its white washed enchanting mountain villages.
To the east you will find Cabo de Gata, a protected, unspoilt stretch of wonderfully wild coastline with cliffs, solitary coves, reefs and vast beaches. Within the nature reserve there are bird spotting observatories where you can admire the pink flamingos.
