Grc Zapolje

This modern hotel, located in the IOC zone Zapolje (industrial zone) in Logatec, 30 km south west of Ljubljana, includes up-to-date business and recreation facilities.

Apart from nicely furnished rooms, this hotel also provides a tourist information centre, swimming pools and a jacuzzi, tennis courts, badminton courts, ping pong tables, a fitness centre, massage and beauty parlours and 3 different kinds of saunas. Business guests can make use of the hotel's meeting rooms, including catering if needed. The hotel can organise special packages for many activities such as hiking or biking tours to discover the beautiful Karst landscape nearby. For hungry travellers there is cosy bar, a fine restaurant and the Pizzeria Logatcanka. Last but not least the hotel boasts an impressive wine cellar.

The organiser of group stays will receive a special discount and so do truck drivers and guides. The complex has a large parking area which can be used by trucks and buses as well.

In the right wing, on the first floor of the complex, there are some new single, double and quadruple rooms. The rooms feature wooden flooring, modern, dark wood furnishings, armchairs and plenty of windows letting in ample natural light. They are all equipped with a fridge, a writing desk and air-conditioning.

The complex offers a restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with fine local and international cuisine that can be accompanied by one of many high-quality wines from the hotel's large cellar.

Meals are served in buffet style and guests can dine either inside our outside on the terrace (60 seats). The bar can seat up to 80 guests inside and 40 outside and offers a rich choice of drinks, sweets, cakes and pastries. It is open until 23:00 during the week and until 22:00 on Sundays. There are also 50 seats in the wine cellar, which is a great place for parties or for wine-tasting sessions.

The Grc Zapolje can be found in the "IOC" zone of Zapolje, in the industrial area of Logatec. The city of Zapolje is located some 30 km in south-westerly direction away from the Slovenian capital city of Ljubljana. In the area you can find the remains of an old Roman fortification, the birth house of one of Slovenia's greatest writers, Ivan Cankar, the Logatec cave, the Postojna cave, the natural park 'Rakov Škocjan' and the Cerknica karst lake. There are also plenty of sports activities to be enjoyed in the area.

Arrival by plane:
The international airport of Ljubljana-Brnik is around 30 km from the complex. Many low-cost airlines fly directly to this airport from all over Europe. From the airport guests can take a taxi or hire a car. The journey will take around 20 minutes. You can also take a shuttle bus of Alpetour or JP Ljubljanski potniški promet to the central station in Ljubljana. They run about every hour and from there you can take a train (see below).

Arrival by train:
Connections abroad are excellent - you can come to Slovenia directly from Italy, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia and Macedonia. From the central station you can catch hourly trains run by LP, mainly to Logatec. It will take around 40 minutes to the nearest train station Železniška postaja Logatec, but this is about 3 km away from GRC Zapolje. From there you should take a taxi or make use of the hotel's pick-up service, as there is no bus leaving from the station.

The reception is open from 7:00 to 23:00. If you are planing to arrive after 23:00, please contact the reception in advance.

Unfortunately the swimming pool is closed until 5 September and saunas are closed until the end of September 2008.
