Area information

The old part of Laško is situated on the left bank of the Savinja river, just below the Hum hill (583 metres). The town is known for its pleasantly warm springs, already admired in the times of ancient Rome. There is also a brewery, established in 1825, which is one of the largest in the country. Above the old town stands the old castle Tabor boasting a superb panorama of the town and the surrounding countryside. The most important cultural monument in the city is the Parish church of St. Martin, dating back to 1269.
