Area information
Ponte de Lima is situated 25 km east of Viana do Castelo. The city derives its name from the bridge over the river Lima nearby. This historical bridge consists of 24 arches, of which 4, on the southern end, are still the original Roman ones.
Some impressive 14th century watchtowers mark the medieval boundaries of the city. Together with the white houses, the towers are authentic landmarks of Ponte de Lima.

By Car:
From Oporto or from Galiza:
- Take the motorway AX and leave at Ponte de Lima.
- Follow the directions to Ponte de Lima Centro.
- After you pass a the bridge over the river Minho, you'll start to see the signs indicating the golf course.
- The Casa do Anquião is located 1 km from the entrance to the golf course, on the left-hand side of the road
- You'll see on your left the sign, Turismo de Habitação.
- Turn left here and continue straight ahead for 400 metres.
- You'll see the sign for Casa do Anquião on your left-hand side.
