Estalagem Jardins do Lago is situated on one of the hills surrounding the city of Funchal, close to its principal area of historical interest. The hotel, with 31 double rooms, 4 Junior Suites and 5 Suites, all facing south to the gardens and the sea and designed to offer the best in modern functionality and traditional comfort and style, opened a new chapter in the rich history this Quinta. The gardens are unique in their variety and natural beauty, with an area of 2.5 hectares full of wonderful gardens.

The hotel is situated on a hill about 1 mile away from the centre of Funchal with extensive views both over the sea and the mountains. It is a good walk downhill into town. You might want to get the hotel minibus or a taxi back! There is a broad range of well-maintained leisure facilities on the hotel property, including a pool-side bar/ bistro for lunch or drinks, etc. Don't forget to say hello to ‘Columbo’ the Quinta's longest-serving resident - a giant Galapagos tortoise.

Our large rooms offer a sitting area, and big balconies facing the lush gardens, mountains and sea. The Standard Rooms are 42m², the Superior Rooms are 44m², the Junior Suites in the Manor House are 48m², and the Premier Suites are 80m², including one large bedroom and a separate sitting room.

We have 2 restaurants: one is the "Pink room" where breakfast is served, and which has a large balcony, facing the wonderful gardens and mountains; and the "Beresford" where dinner is served, with an area "al fresco" which is very charming for the evening meal.
Furthermore there are 2 bars: one is the "Colombo Bistro" in the pool area, which is surrounded by mango trees, tropical plants and flowers, and where we serve light meals and salads. The other one is the "Viscionde" near the reception area, and this is the perfect place for an aperitive and a night cap.

The hotel is situated at ca. 1 mile from the city centre, and 5m from the hotel you will find the local bus stop to Funchal. The hotel is only 20m away from a Pizza parlour, 200m from the university of Madeira, and 300m from the orquidia garden.

From the airport international of Madeira to Jardins do Lago is only 18km, and by car it will take you about 15 minutes to arrive at this paradise.
