Right in front of the hotel there is a pedestrian promenade that runs along the spectacular coast for about 3km, up to the popular beach 'Praia Formosa'. The promenade is edged by lush botanical gardens and has a myriad of viewing points and seats where you can enjoy the stunning scenery.

At just two minutes walking from the resort, the new 'Madeira Forum Shopping Centre' provides a large variety of restaurants and cafés, quality shops and cinemas (international films are shown in the original languages with Portuguese sub-titles).

The airport (Aeroporto Internacional da Madeira) is a 35 minutes drive from the Pestana Grand Hotel.

From Funchal Airport:
-Get on the Funchal main road.
-Leave at the exit for the hospital.
-Follow signs for Hotel Synalethic.
