The Tivoli Coimbra hotel is pleased to introduce a new type of accommodation especially designed for the comfort and convenience of our guests: superior rooms.
The rooms have everything for your comfort including electric blinds, an LCD screen, mini bar and even a safe for your laptop computer.
Guests staying in superior rooms also have free use of the garage and our Health Club facilities (massages are not included).
The bathrooms have been completely remodelled using natural stone and new fittings including a rain effect shower. In addition, the suite also has a lounge and dining area, with 2 adjoining bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

Located on the mezzanine floor, Porta Ferrea Restaurant combines first-class service with local and international cuisine. It seats up to 70 guests and is open for breakfast from 07:00 to 10:00. Lunch is served from 12:30 to 15:00, with dinner available from 19:30 to 22:00.

Coimbra is the city with the most academic tradition in Portugal and a visit to the Universidade de Coimbra is a must. Wander through the famous library and steep in the tradition of the students' black capes, with each tear representing the amorous conquests.
In the upper part of the city, do not forget to visit to the Machado de Castro Museum - the largest Roman building in the Iberian Peninsula - with Gothic houses, Renaissance and Baroque works of arts, and a considerable collection of porcelain.
The town centre has much to offer the visitor and the downtown quarter - known as the Baixa - by the River Mondego, is a warren of fascinating narrow streets, and it's full of shops, cafés and churches.
Quite apart from the vast number of museums in the city, the Roman ruins of Conímbriga are certainly noteworthy and can be found close to the town of Condeixa-a-Velha.
For children, the Portugal dos Pequeninos theme park is undoubtedly the main attraction, where Portugal's key historical and cultural landmarks are reproduced in miniature constructions, up to 4 metres high.

From the A1:
Coming from the A1 - Lisbon - Oporto, exit the motorway at Coimbra-Sul. After the toll gates, follow Av. Professor Mário Silva (highway to Taveiro) towards the town centre.
Once you have reached the Açude Bridge, turn into the first street on the right, towards Rua Padre Estêvão Cabral, and the junction with Av. Fernão de Magalhães. At the Fernão de Magalhães roundabout, turn right and follow the Avenue until you arrive at some traffic lights.
At the second set of traffic lights, turn left, on Rua Dr. Manuel Rodrigues until you reach Rua da Sofia. Turn left, pass in front of the Law Courts and turn left again.
You have entered the Rua João Machado. On your right, you will find the Tivoli Coimbra.
