Quinta das Lágrimas offers 3 different room styles. Stay in one of the palace rooms that once accommodated the Duke of Wellington or opt for a garden room overlooking the botanical garden. Spa rooms include a private jacuzzi and boast stunning views of Coimbra.

The palace has several rooms and verandas that offer perfect retreats to read or enjoy a quiet conversation. Relax by the pool or dine alfresco in the garden. On colder days, fireplaces add to the estates overall warm ambiance.

Awarded a Michelin star, the restaurant serves seasonal dishes prepared with only the freshest of ingredients. Indulge in traditional specialties that include fruit and vegetables grown on the estate. A second restaurant offers casual dining and a Latin food concept.

The estate's different rooms (with capacities ranging from 15 to 350 people) allow for them to be used by small break-out groups at the same time. When it is time to play, the Quinta offers several entertainment alternatives ranging from the spa to the golf academy or to organised team-building activities around the garden and woods.

The hotel offers 3 different atmospheres: the palace, garden and spa guest rooms. The palace rooms, which once accommodated the Duke of Wellington and the King Miguel of Portugal, have the charm and romanticism of days gone and offer a stay in history. Offering direct access to our serene botanical garden, the garden rooms overlook the stage for the love affair of Pedro and Inês. The modernly designed spa rooms boast individual jacuzzis and offer stunning views of the Quinta’s woods and Coimbra.

Our cuisine uses traditional ingredients of this region to create exquisite recipes that we refresh 4 times per year with the rhythm of the seasons. It is a “market cuisine” because it uses only the freshest ingredients available. Our chefs use vegetables and herbs organically grown on our own grounds. In our restaurant, Arcadas da Capela, that has one Michelin star, you will be able to savour aromatic herbs from our chef’s garden and oranges, lemons and avocados from our orchard, as well as the raspberries and wild watercress that grow all over the Quinta. Our other restaurant, Aqua, offers a casual dining experience and a Latin food concept.

The gastronomy at Quinta das Lágrimas is the delicious result of the collaboration between our chef, Albano Lourenço, and our consultant chef, Joachim Koerper. During their careers, Albano and Joachim have worked in restaurants that total 16 Michelin stars.
