Beautifully situated by the enchanting Lake Selbusjøen, we have endeavoured to preserve our cultural heritage by nurturing the historical and the authentic character of our establishment.

Following considerable rebuilding and extension of the buildings up to 1998 we were able to welcome our first guests.

In and around Selbu there is great hunting and fishing to be found, such as trout fishing in one of Northern Europe’s best trout rivers, the Nea River. Other attractions include tours on the cruise liner MS Jøvra, bowling, rowing boats and barbecue areas by the lakeside.

Remember to sample a selection of the local fare such as; mountain trout, cheeses made in Selbu and the Selbulefse griddle cake.

When you are driving on Route 705 to Selbu, the body awakens and feels that this is freedom. Countryside, fresh air, a lot of culture and a fertile landscape: you will see an idyllic place down by the sea; this is the historical Selbusjøen Hotel & Conference.
Here is the history preserved and we are probably one of the few hotels with their own "Stabbur" in the field.
Wide spaces and great fishing opportunities are also on offer in Selbusjøen.

From the moment you step into our building you will experience a nice and quiet atmosphere and a friendly service. You will be able to admire ancient historic photos and purchase the famous “Selbu-gloves” (the hotel has an impressive display of Selbuknitted garments that can be purchased as gifts / souvenirs).
