The hotels contemporary cuisine is French and varies seasonally. The gourmet restaurant, Bistro 't Gerecht, serves elegant salads, fresh fish, fresh lobster from our lobster tank and steak and chips; just some examples from the menu. It is possible to order most dishes in small portion sizes. On warm days food is served in the hotel's garden; a city garden where breakfast is served on summer days.

Area information

Groningen has a rich culture, heavily influenced by the student community and its own history. A mix of the old and new can be found on the city streets. You may struggle to move around the city by car, and parking is limited. Rent a bicycle, or walk to see the main attractions.

Groninger Museum (1.5km by bicycle) – Designed and built in 1994, in futuristic style, this ship shaped museum houses an assortment of local and international modern art.

Noorderplantsoen (1km) – This pleasant public park contains some of the old walls of the city.

Travel information

By Car:

- Follow the A-7 (from the East or West) or the A-28 (from the South) into Groningen.
- Follow signs for Centrum
- Follow the P-route to Ossenmarkt parking.
- The Oude Boteringestraat is situated across the bridge. Due to one way traffic Hotel De Ville is best reached through either street parallel to the Oude Boteringestraat.

Navigating around Groningen by car is notoriously difficult. Parking in the city is limited.
