The Romans called this region Triënte, but nowadays we call it Drenthe. This farm with sheep fold is situated in Buinen: Hotel Pension Appartementen Triënte, offers guestrooms and apartments. The property has 9 hotel rooms, and each has its own Drents theme.

There are 3 apartments situated In the wonderful renovated sheep fold. With personal entrance, living with open kitchen, central heating, telephone, TV, 2 double rooms, and a bathroom with shower and toilet.

The garden, featuring old fruit trees, beautiful garden strips and a spacious terrace, is famous among our regular guests; sunny and completely closed.
The hotel has its own parking facility and a lockable bike shed.
The large table in the lounge invites you to relax while enjoying a drink from our bar or reading.
In our hotel, you can use and purchase several products on a honey base, like shower gel, shampoo, juices and bitters, and of course the honey itself from our beehives.
Triënte is also suitable for groups of up to 20 people.
Feel free to use the many bike routes and walking routes in the area.

The hotel has 8 double rooms en 1 single room. All room interiors feature a Drents theme: hunebed, heide (heath), schaap (sheep), zand (sand), esdorp, veen (peat), flinten, bos (forest) and beekje (stream).

The extensive breakfast buffet is served in between 8.30AM - 9.30AM. Various breads are served, including warm buns and home-baked bread, rye bread, knäckebröd, crackers and toast, coffee, tea, dairy products and juice. Furthermore, we serve yoghurt or cottage cheese, muesli, cruesli, cheese, luncheon meats, honey en homemade jam.
At night, a menu of the day is served with many fresh ingredients. We serve local dishes, but also Mediterranean dishes.

Buinen is at the foot of the Hondsrug. The surrounding area is made up of state forests, peat areas, sand drifts and moors. It’s the perfect area to go for a walk or a bike ride.
The cities Groningen, Assen and Emmen are definitely worth a visit. To name a few of the attractions: Orvelte museum village, Westerbork remembrance camp, Exloo gnome land, Boomkroonpad Borger (starting point for many forest walks), Borger hunebed centre, Emmen Zoo and Drouwenerzand theme park.

From the direction of Groningen (A28):
Follow the N34 in the direction of Gieten/Borger/Emmen. Get off at exit Borger. Follow this road in the direction of Stadskanaal. On the N374, take the exit Buinen/Exloo to the right. Go left at the intersection and follow the signs to the hotel/boarding house.

From the direction of Drachten:
Follow the A28 in the direction of Meppel/Hoogeveen. At Hoogeveen, take the A37 in the direction of Emmen. At Emmen, take the N34 in the direction of Osdoorn/Exloo/Groingen. Get off at exit Borger and follow the N374 in the direction of Stadskanaal and then follow the directions mentioned above.

From the direction of Zwolle:
Follow the A28 in the direction of Meppel/Hoogeveen. At Hoogeveen, take the A37 in the direction of Emmen. At Emmen, take the N34 in the direction of Osdoorn/Exloo/Groningen. Get off at exit Borger and follow the directions mentioned at the top of these directions.

The hotel can also be reached by public transport. Take the train to Assen, and then take bus 24 in the direction of Stadskanaal. Once you're in Buinen, get off at the second busstop, walk 50m to the right and then turn left.
