Camping Birkelt is an lively family camp site in the Müllerthal National Park, exclusively located on a quiet forest clearing near Larochette.

This is the perfect family base for hiking, mountain biking or horseback riding and excursions. The camping is conveniently situated for trips to the nearby cities of Luxembourg, Trier, Vianden, and Echternach.

Camping Birkelt is especially known for its spectacular cupola swimming pool. At hot summer days, the doors slide open so that the children can play outside where the adults are sunbathing. For maximum relaxation Camping Birkelt provides sauna, sunbed or a relaxation session (only during public holidays and summer).

On the camping there are two large outdoor playgrounds with swings, slides and climbing walls, trampolines and inline skating track with ramps and quarter pipe. Also there is a 18-hole minigolf and an outdoor tenniscourt.

Rubyred is the name of our stylish and cosy restaurant with cyber-coffeebar. This is the place to relax both indoors and outdoors with a cup of coffee, tea, or a beer, read the newspaper or watch the summer sport activities. We cater for every appetite and taste with a vast choice of snacks and meals and you can taste a range of local and international wines by the glass. For the kids we have a delicious kid's meal with a surprise!

Upon request our chef prepares special meals such as vegetarian, organic or diet meals.

Area information

The Mullerthal is a real hikers paradise. Lush forests, spectacular rocks and serpentine creeks are the trade mark of this nature park. Straight from the campsite you can access a 60 km hiking route network.

Larochette offers also a challenging mountainbiking route of 30 km through the forest and canoeing on the Sûre is an exciting and adventurous attraction for everyone. The Sûre is a calm river, previous experience is not needed. The Mullerthal's typical sandstone rocks can also be explored by rock climers.
