The village is 1250 metres above sea level and is a great place for a holiday whatever the season, summer or winter. Winter sports lovers can take advantage of the region’s superb ski slopes and ski resorts. Some of the local slopes rise as high as 2000 metres and, with 50 km of snowy slopes and runs of various intensities, the area is great for skiers of all skill levels and experience, from beginners to experts. The village is famous for the Live Crib of Rivisondoli, a representation of the story of the nativity and in wintertime visitors come from miles around to admire the Christmas scene.
In the summer, Rivisondoli is ideal as a base from which to explore the area and visitors can experience the region’s magnificent scenery on foot or by mountain bike. Set on the slopes of Mount Calvario, amidst stunning scenery, the village’s position is among the most picturesque in the Abruzzo region of Italy.
