Set against a backdrop of art and architecture, this carefully-restored hotel is situated in the charming Baroque town of Acireale, and was originally a 19th century grain-mill on the Riviera.

Excelsior Palace Terme provides shuttle service to the beach (09:30 to 18:30), located 2 km away from the hotel. The service is upon request and by payment and it is available from June until September.

The elegant hotel is also an important congress centre boasting 9 conference rooms with capacities for 25 to 400 guests.

The hotel’s restaurants offer a cuisine of typical Sicilian and national recipes.

Breakfast is served from 07:00 to 09:45.
Lunch is available from 13:00 to 14:30.
Dinner is served from 20:00 to 21:45.

An à la carte menu and buffet are also served for lunch and dinner in the Agavi and Bouganville restaurants. Both restaurants are equipped with air conditioning and have a capacity of 500 seats.

The hotel also provides theme parties that take place at the Il Giardino restaurant during the summer months.

Acireale has been referred to as the “city of a hundred bell-towers”. It is also known as the city of the “flowered baroque”, the queen of the Sicilian Carnival or the thermal city.

The Greeks built the first spa exploiting Mount Etna’s sulphurous water source. Nowadays, the Acireale Spa is a renowned place as far as hydrological, physical and rehabilitative medicine is concerned.

Nearby, the city of Catania stands between Etna and the ionic coast, characterized by the typical black lava stone used to make the buildings and streets. The magnificent scenery of Via Crociferi; one of the most charming areas of Sicilian Baroque, the Massimo Bellini Theatre and the Roman amphitheatre are some of the city’s major attractions.
