- Skelig Michael: this UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the finest examples of an early Christian monastic settlement. Dating back to the 6th century, it consists of 6 beehive-shaped huts, 2 oratories and a church. The smaller island is home to thousands of gannets, puffins, guillemots and cormorants.

- Fishing in Waterville's famous trout and salmon rivers. Boats, gillies and tackle hire can all be arranged on request.

- Bird watching through the hills, mountains, valleys, moors, rivers and estuaries in the surroundings.

- Golf at Waterville Golf Club and Skelig Bay Golf Club.

By Car:
From the north:
- Once in Waterville, at the church, cross straight over taking the centre road.
- Continue straight for approximately 1.5 km and you will find O'Grady's Townhouse.

From the south:
- Follow the N70 through the village.
- Drive past the Butler Arms Hotel on your right and take the third right-hand turn.
- Drive to the top of road.
- Turn right again and you will find the house.
