Area information
Fanore beach is 10 km to the north on the coast road, Lahinch beach & Golf course are 10 km to the south.
The Burren occupies 50 square miles to the north of Lisdoonvarna and has many roads for walking. The Cliffs of Moher 7km to the South-West are not to be missed. Doolin 4km to the West is world famous for traditional music. Daily trips to The Aran Islands are available from Doolin Pier nearest point to the Aran Islands. (Aran is a day trip and extra night is advisable).
Limerick, Galway, Bunratty & Shannon are all approximately an hour drive from Lisdoonvarna. There are also many craft shops and shops specialising in Irish products nearby (Woollens, Fabrics, Tweeds etc).

From Shannon take the N18 to Ennis (Galway direction)
Take the bypass for Ennis
Follow - N85 to Ennistymon /( Lehinch) Signes for this
Straight through Ennistymon & Lisdoonvarna -best road
*** do NOT take the N67 left in Ennistymon as this is to the south
From Dublin: Driving time 4 or 5 hours -by Galway is best
Take the M1 towards Dublin from the airport
Take the M50 (west toll road).
Turn off for N4 / M4
Continue N4 / M4 to Kinnegad
Where you look for N6 for Galway
continue to Oranmore
there take the N18 Ennis/ LIMERICK direction At ORANBEG Roundabout
continue to Kilcolgan
