Castle Grove Country House Hotel

An oasis of peace and tranquillity in the town of Letterkenny, County Donegal, this spectacular Georgian house stands within its own private estate overlooking Lough Swilly.

Offering a relaxed atmosphere of comfort and hospitality, Castle Grove is set in the Northwest of Ireland, the most beautiful unspoilt part of the country, home to magnificent beaches and rolling countryside. The hotel itself features extensive grounds which you can stroll through at your leisure, whilst the surroundings are ideal for a range of country pursuits, which can be organised through the hotel.

In the evenings you can enjoy fine dining in Castle Grove’s Michelin recommended restaurant, serving the best of Irish produce, including vegetables from the hotel’s gardens. All meals are accompanied by a varied wine list.

After along day you can relax in the spacious, elegant drawing rooms, with sunlight streaming through stately windows and inviting log fires. Alternatively you can head to the library where you can sit in quiet comfort to read or write. Adjacent to the library is a TV room.

Conference facilities are available for 12-15 people.

Golf parties are welcome and golf can be arranged at any of 5 local clubs - Portsalon, Rosapenna, Letterkenny, Murvagh or Ballyliffen.

On request, the staff can also arrange fishing, pony trekking and walking.

All rooms are individually decorated whilst retaining the elegance of the house with all of its Georgian features and antiques.

Some ground floor rooms are accessible to those with mobility problems.

Castle Grove's restaurant serves excellent cuisine that is prepared with dedication and care by an award-winning chef.

The restaurant provides the very best of good Irish food, including fish fresh from the sea, tender juicy roasts and vegetables fresh from the hotel garden, all cooked with care and attractively presented.

The restaurant boasts 4-stars from the Irish Tourist Board, an AA Rosette and a Michelin recommendation.

Private dining is available for lunch and dinner parties or for a working lunch (on request).

During your stay you can enjoy a range of country pursuits, including golfing, fishing, sea angling, deer stalking, rough shoots and pony trekking. Alternatively you can take day trips to discover the unspoilt beauty of the countryside. Visit the National Park with its magnificent gardens or The Derek Hill Gallery which is home to many Irish artists.

By Car:
From Dublin:
- Take the N2 and A5 through Northern Ireland (approximately 3.5 hours).

From Belfast:
- Take the A6 (approximately 2 hours).

From Letterkenny:
- Follow the signs to Rathmelton.
- For approximately 2.5 miles follow the signs to Castle Grove.
