Our Palace Bar is located opposite Athlone Castle on the Left Bank area of Athlone and is recognized as a landmark which combines Old World charm with style. There’s a DJ every weekend. The Palace Bar is also home to the Athlone Folk Club.

An Luain is renowned in the midlands for its excellent cuisine and complete with conservatory makes this the perfect location for small private lunches or dinner parties. In our function room we can cater for all occasions such as christenings, family gatherings, business lunches, group tours and dinner dances. Our Banqueting Suite, beautifully designed and carefully planned for Weddings is spacious and modern.
Our team of Chefs have a passion for producing the finest dishes with only the best of local produce. Both groups and individuals are welcome. With plenty of car parking available, free of charge, it is the idea spot for Sunday Lunch, or even a romantic dinner for two.

The Shamrock Lodge Hotel is just a 5 minute walk from Athlone town centre on the west side of the River Shannon, making it the ideal touring base for the town and the rest of the Midlands. Athlone is easily accessible by road (N6 National Primary Road connecting Dublin to Galway), and has an excellent Bus and Train service.
Directions From Galway:
Approach Take the 2nd exit off the Athlone bypass and then take the 3 rd exit off the roundabout at Ganlys driving straight for direction Athlone Town Centre(N61). Take the left turn at the next junction onto the R446 again direction Athlone Town Centre, driving past Lynchs Garage on the left. Take a right turn at the next traffic light junction (Bright Ideas shop to the left of this junction) and drive straight as far as the Battery Roundabout. Take 3 rd exit off the roundabout, cross the Battery Bridge and take the immediate left turn after the bridge. Drive straight on to the main entrance of the Shamrock Lodge Hotel located on the right.

Approach On arrival at the main Athlone approach roundabout(Kilmartins N6 Centre/Creggan Court Hotel) take 2 nd exit off the roundabout and drive straight on through each subsequent roundabout to the town centre. Keep driving straight through over the Town Bridge and vere left around by Athlone Castle. Follow the one-way system as far as the Battery roundabout (Walshs shop and pub on left). Drive straight ahead over the the Battery Bridge and take the immediate left turn after the bridge. Drive straight on to the main entrance of the Shamrock Lodge Hotel located on the right. Continue straight on and take the 4 th exit off the next small roundabout toward the Bus & Rail station. Follow the road to the next roundabout, take the 1 st exit towards the town centre (hospital is the 2 nd exit). Drive straight ahead and take a right at the traffic light junction.
