The guest house’s attractive stone building was once the Norwegian Embassy in Reykjavik and was then converted into a well-known singing school. It now offers a range of accommodation in the centre of Reykjavik, with single, double and triple rooms available, as well as private apartments and spaces in shared dormitories.

Hotel information

As well as shops, bars and restaurants, Reykjavik’s museums and art galleries are also just a 5-minute walk from the guest house. The National Theatre and the Icelandic Opera are also close by and the harbour is just up the street, offering fantastic views of the Esja Mountain and the Snæfells glacier.

Located next to Reykjavik’s main shopping street, Laugavegur, the guesthouse offers an ideal location for exploring the historic centre; shops, restaurants, cafés, bars, nightlife and main attractions can all be found within easy walking distance.

Within 500 m from the guesthouse the following attractions can be found:

- The old harbour where you can go on a whale watching trip (April-October).

- The flea market, Kolaportið, open Saturdays and Sundays.

- Hallgrímskirkja church, one of Reykjavík’s most famous landmarks. You can climb up to the church tower and enjoy a spectacular view of the city.

- The Culture House, which houses Iceland’s Medieval Manuscripts, amongst other artifacts.

Within 3 km of the hotel the following attractions can be found:

- The National Museum.

- The Pearl - one of Reykjavík’s landmark, where you can get a great view over the city, visit the Saga Museum and dine at the revolving restaurant at the top.

- Kringlan shopping centre, with over 60 shops.
