Area information

Platis Gialos is a popular tourist resort in Mykonos, located on the south side of the island, 4 km from the town. The beach is well organised and is popular among tourists for its clear waters and many facilities.

Visitors can also take a boat ride to the famous beaches of Paraga, Paradise, Super Paradise, Agkrari and Eli.

Travel information

Mykonos can be reached by air from Athens (there is a daily service from Athens airport), Rhodes, Santorini and Iraklion (Crete).

There are ferries from the Port of Piraeus, Rafina, Dodecanese islands, Crete and Thessaloniki. The journey by ferry from Piraeus takes 6 hours.

During the summer season a hydrofoil service is available from Piraeus and Rafina.
