Apsenti is situated less than 4 km from the centre of Mykonos and a short downhill walk to the quiet sandy beach of Agios Ioannis. There are 2 taverns here serving Mediterranean cuisine and also 1 fish tavern.

There is regular bus service going to the centre of Mykonos every 30 minutes in the high season and every hour in the low season.

The area is known for its famous inhabitants and is not overly busy with tourists.
