Agia Galini is easily reachable by bus, taxi or car and is 65 km for the Heraklion Airport. In Agia Galini you can take a refreshing boat trip to Preveli and admire the village’s historical monastery dating from the Middle Ages. You can also enjoy a fishing trip to Agios Georgos.

The fishing village is also ideal for visiting neaby places such as Phaistos, which hosts the ruins of a palace dating back to the Bronze Age. Gortyn is also worth visiting for its archeological wonders, as it was the historical capital of Crete during the Roman Period.

Agia-Galini is only a one and a half hour drive from the capital of Heraklion and one hour from Rethymno. Rethymno is worth seeing as it was built in antiquity and hosts a lovely Venetian port.
