"Afitos" the third village in order after Potidea's canal, is situated at this position since 3000BC. Ancient Afitos was an important city of Pallini and was frequently mentioned by the ancient writers (Herodotus, Thucydides, Xenophon, Aristotle, Pausanias, Stravon etc.). In 1858 the church of Agios Dimitrios was built, a three-aisle "basilica" with dome that is considered as the vilage's jewel, located in the center of the main square.
