Area information
The architecture of the gabled houses in Wismar, which were often used as storage sheds, are well worth seeing. The three churches of the late Gothic era (Wismar is today known as the “town of three spires”) bear striking witness to the wealth of the Hanseatic merchants during the 14th Century. The St.Nikolai church features Germany’s fourth largest nave while St.Georgen represents the largest church ruins in the country.
