Winterberg offers ideal leisure activities for adults and children alike. The Kahler Asten, one of the most popular mountains in the Sauerland region, is located in Winterberg. There are also various lakes nearby.
The area is very well-known for its skiing facilities. There are 72 ski slopes for all levels of difficulty, 22 ski lifts, 30 cross-country skiing trails, a toboggan track and many ski-jumps, including the St. Georg. A mountain bike track opened in 2003.

From the A4 motorway, take the A45 motorway towards Frankfurt, and exit at Dillenburg or Olpe.
