Area information

Hikers can discover a real paradise throughout the 300 kilometres of sign-posted hiking trails. The famous hiking track the "Rothaarsteig" runs right by the town, and there are new stretches of the "Uplandsteig" nearby. The new "Hochheideturm", the highest viewing platform in north-west Germany (875 metres), and numerous mountian peaks over 800 metres invite you to enjoy a fantastic panorama.
