The village of Willingen is located in the area Waldeck-Frankenberg in the Upland. The main part of the village stretches from the stream courses and valleys in Hoppecke in the West to Itter in the East.

You can look forward to a varied stay exploring the surroundings by mountain bike or by hiking. There are many things to do and to discover on a short or longer stay - here you can experience "natural" relaxation.

Willingen's main landmark is the train station bridge "Das Viadukt" which was built in 1918. The village's main income source is tourism. The largest events which take place here are the annual ski FIS world cup on the Mühlenkopfschanze (about 100,000 visitors) and the annual mountain bike event on Ettelsberg (about 35,000 visitors).
