The hotel is an ideal starting point for those seeking to explore a series of nearby ‘Alms’ (mountain pastures). The Kohleralm is a 2-hour hike (with the Sonntagshorn mountain on the left), the Höllenbachalm is an easier walking trail. You can also try the Pichleralm, Reiteralm or Kaitalm. There are licensed eateries on the ‘Alms’ where you can treat yourself to snacks and drinks.

You can swim outdoors at Zwingsee (3 km away), Thumsee (5 km), Ruhpolding (10 km) and Bad Reichenhall (12 km).

In the winter you can visit the ice-rinks at Inzell and Bad Reichenhall, as well as a winter biathlon centre in Ruhpolding.
