The village Schwangau is located in the centre of Königswinkels in the east of the Allgäu. The border of Austria is only a few kilometers away.
Schwangau is famous due to the castle Neuschwanstein, which was build by king Ludwig II. The area is called The crystal therme of the king, expect a varied terrific landscape of mountains, seas and valleys.

- hiking in the quiet mountains around the 13 lakes that are located far away from traffic and can be reached with bicycles or by boat.
- you can also experience the beauty up from the air by going on a balloon or paraglider excursion. For those who are afraid of flying there is the secure Tegel mountain rail by which you will safely reach 1720 meters to enjoy the splendid view.
