The Hotel Waldhaus is a small, family-run hotel which provides a relaxing base in the holiday resort of Gleißenberg.

The tastefully furnished rooms offer a TV and en suite bathroom, as well as a kitchenette and minibar in some cases. Most of the rooms have a balcony or terrace with a view of the scenic Gließenberger Tal (valley) and Hoher Bogen (range of hills).

The Hotel Waldhaus rents out bicycles, cross-country skis and toboggans for guests exploring the scenic area on an activity holiday. Guests can play table tennis, pool and video games, while younger guests will appreciate the children's playroom, playground and animal enclosure.

The state-approved holiday resort of Gleißenberg is situated in an open, south-facing valley basin, surrounded by one of the mountain chains of the Bavarian Forest. Owing to its mild climate and wind-sheltered location, the resort has been referred to as the "Bavarian Merano". The well-built, well-marked walking routes offer several benches. Hiking trails through forests rich in mushrooms and berries lead to the nearby mountain tops, which are almost 1000 metres in height and offer a magnificent vista. A ride through the beautiful surroundings by horse-drawn carriage is an experience the whole family will enjoy.

In winter the resort offers tobogganing on snowy slopes, curling on natural frozen ponds, and a variety of winter sports in the local area, where snow is guaranteed every year.
