The impressive Moselle River runs through the valley, making it a popular area for young and old. Many linger on her banks in one of the attractive villages which originated there centuries ago. Cochem may be the most beautiful and definitely the most diverse place in this valley. Smaller, but certainly no less picturesque, is the village of Ernst, only 4 km from Cochem, an ideal setting, surrounded by wine, in which to relax, play sports, ride on a bicycle or motorcycle, and enjoy the culture and sight of the Moselle.
