First constructed in 1889 by architect Ludwig Heim (the appointed master builder of the government), the building was originally used as the Dresdner Bank headquarters. After 1945, it housed the Central Bank of the German Democratic Republic. The ornate and classical design of the original building has been given a contemporary twist by renowned designer Tommaso Ziffer. This has created a wonderful blend of traditional splendour and modern-day chic.

Covering an area of 700 m², the hotel’s spa and gym offers everything you need for a relaxing break or a satisfying workout. In addition to the listed facilities, it features a 20-metre indoor pool (originally a bank vault), relaxation areas and 6 treatment cabins for various therapies and beauty treatments. The hotel uses products from The Organic Pharmacy, Eminence and Julisis.

With its extraordinarily high ceiling and glazed roof, the hotel’s impressive ballroom provides a splendid backdrop for your special events. It accommodates up to 250 guests. For meetings of up to 160 participants, 5 meeting rooms are available. All have natural light, are equipped with the latest technology, and can be accessed via a separate entrance.

The hotel offers a range of spacious rooms and suites which combine state-of-the-art technology with elegant décor. They provide generous areas for work and relaxation, while all bathrooms feature walk-in showers, limestone surfaces, glass panelling, heated mosaic flooring and natural daylight.

Rooms offer a view either of Französische Strasse, St. Hedwig Cathedral or the inner courtyard. Some rooms have ceilings which are 4 metres high and include stucco details.

Our Mediterranean restaurant, Parioli, seats 120 and features a large terrace which is used for al fresco dining during the summer months. Our chefs have developed a cuisine based on traditional Italian and Mediterranean cooking.

The bar has a contemporary feel and it includes a long bar overlooking Bebelplatz.

The Opera Court is a grand room with an original glazed ceiling. It is the focal point for coffee and afternoon tea.

Guests can enjoy a sumptuous "lie-in" breakfast until 14:00 on weekends and public holidays.
