Set within a listed Art Nouveau building in Berlin's central Tiergarten district, this quietly located hostel enjoys fast public transport links to sights including the Kurfürstendamm shopping boulevard.

Just a 10-minute walk from the Turmstrasse U-Bahn (underground) station, the Amstel House Hostel Berlin offers brightly decorated rooms with private or shared bathrooms.

Free Wi-Fi internet access is available in the lobby, and you can enjoy a tasty breakfast buffet for an additional fee.

Thanks to the convenient underground and bus connections, you can reach the Zoologischer Garten railway station and Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in just 5 minutes. The TXL direct bus service to Tegel Airport also stops near the hostel.

The Amstel House's 24-hour reception staff are happy to provide sightseeing tips and advice about local restaurants and nightlife venues.

Hotel information

Amstel House opened in July 2005. After two renovations, it is now a modern hostel with a 24-hour reception, and hosts groups as well as backpackers, families on holiday and single travellers.

Amstel House offers a variety of facilities: a rich breakfast, tourist information, ticket services, guided tours, internet, laundry service, bike rental or just a beer while planning your next activity.

Most of the rooms (quadruple as well as single and twin rooms) have bunk beds.

All of the rooms include bed linen.

Area information

The nearby subway station U-Tumstrasse - which is only two stops from Zoo-Station is an ideal place from which to discover Berlin. It is centrally located and easily accessible: only 7 minutes away from the central station, 15 minutes from Tegel airport, the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate and Hackescher Markt. The hostel is nevertheless located in a quiet and traditional area: our guests like to relax after a long day of sightseeing with a tour in the old Berliner Arminius-Market Place or in one the many parks, restaurants and local pubs just around the corner.

Travel information

Arriving by train:
Central station (Hauptbahnhof-Lehrter Bahnhof): Bus 245 Direction "Zoologischer Garten", appr. 7 min., exit "U-Bahnhof Turmstraße"

Ostbahnhof: take suburban railway S7 or S9 direction Wannsee or Spandau, get off at "Zoologischer Garten". Change for metro line 9 direction "Osloer Straße", 2 stops, get off at "Turmstraße".

From the airport:
Tegel Airport (TXL): Bus "TXL" 7 stops to "U-Bahnhof Turmstraße".

Schönefeld Airport (SXF): Walk or take the Airport Shuttle to the station. Take suburban railway S9 direction "Spandau", get off at "Zoologischer Garten". Change for metro U9 direction "Osloer Straße", 2 stops to "Turmstraße".

By car:
highway A 100, exit no.2 "Beusselstraße"./ "Seestraße", folllow directions for "Tiergarten", drive until junction "Huttenstraße/ Turmstraße", turn left into "Turmstraße", third street on your left (Oldenburger Straße) you have to turn into. Drive until you see this street crossing with "Waldenserstraße", then you turn right.
