Beside the town’s charming spa gardens, you find an attractive pedestrian zone with quaint shops. You also find a cable car which takes you up to the top of the Großer Burgberg hill. This marks the starting point for various hikes.
With its indoor and outdoor pools, the nearby Silberbornland offers fun for all the family. The surrounding area also offers a golf course, riding stables, tennis courts, skiing, a large wildlife park, and a new high ropes course (Skyrope-Hochseilpark).

Travel information
From Braunschweig:
- Take the A395 motorway towards Wolfenbttel
- Exit at the Dreieck Vienenburg-Süd junction and continue on the B6
- Leave the B6 and change to the B4
- Once you have entered Bad Harzburg, take the exit Krankenhaus/Zentrum and continue straight ahead to the junction
- The hotel stands right in front of you
From Braunlage:
- Take the B242 towards Torfhaus
- Leave the B242 and take the B4 for a further 14 kilometres
- Once you have entered Bad Harzburg, take Nordhäuserstrasse for 1.5 kilometres
- Leave the road at the junction Krankenhaus/Zentrum and continue under the bridge
- At the T-junction, turn left and after 300 metres you will see the hotel on your right-hand side
