The town of Aichhalden was founded by the Alpirsbach monastry, which is situated atop a sunny hill with a wonderful panoramic view of the northern and middle areas of the Black Forest as well as the Alb region to the east.

There are excellent connections to the A81 motorway as well as to Kinzintal valley and into the North Black Forest.
