The exciting and varied history of the building at No 27 Lossi Street lends it essential additional values, which have been appreciated by many important Estonian cultural and public figures at various times.

Initially, the building was built as a boarding house, but the twists and turns of its history have led to this house also being used for other purposes.
If only the walls could talk, we could be witnesses to events stretching from schoolboy pranks through the doings of the modestly bohemian group during the “Siuru castle” times and the bustlings of Ms Elisabeth Pohl when she kept her boarding house, to a vegetarian restaurant, and also to interrogations by the special division of the Baltic Coast Guard, or even the events which took place in the rooms which now hide the traces of a former police station.

Different owners have treated the house in many different ways, from good to not so good, but the positive aura of the preserved building can still be clearly perceived even today. The creative, romantic and even slightly tragic history of the building instils a spirit of fondness into the hearts of the new owners, whose aim it is to share with their guests the values they believe in themselves and which they have devotedly helped restore.

La residencia cuenta con una selección de habitaciones de estilo modernista, unas de las habitaciones de hotel más personalizadas y bonitas de Estonia. Ofrecen vistas del castillo episcopal medieval, las zanjas con agua del mar, el parque la ciudad o el romántico jardín que rodea el edificio.

El hotel Ekesparre Residence ofrece el desayuno en un horario flexible. Los clientes pueden elegir la hora y el sitio para desayunar, así como el menú. Aunque el desayuno se sirve en el salón de la primera planta, de 7:00 a 10:00, puede pedir que se lo lleven a su habitación.

En el buffet encontrará una selección de zumos, panes, bollos y pastas, pescados y carnes troceados, muesli, cereales, varios productos lácteos y todo tipo de frutas. Además de esta selección, se sirven platos calientes.

Kuressaare is a historic town on Estonia's largest island, and the Residence is very close to all historic sights.

For enjoying the medieval episcopal castle, you do not even have to leave our front yard. That is to say, the Ekesparre Residence is situated on the north-east ravelin of Kuressaare Castle, which once formed part of the castle ramparts. This is exactly where the main road leads to the castle; and the foundation of the forge which was built for the maintenance of cannons is placed immediately beneath our hotel. Guests with a vivid imagination can still hear the clanks of the blacksmith’s heavy hammer on the anvil, the shouting of rushing soldiers, or the giggles of coquettish noble ladies.
