The hotel’s past is closely linked to the royal residence of the 18th century, which is a neighbour to Fredensborg Castle, which means “Peace Castle”. This castle was inspired by the peace that was felt after the Great Northern War.

- Leave Tarnby and continue along the E20/ Øresundsmotorvejen towards Kobenhavn.
- Continue along the E20/ Amagermotorvejen towards Helsingor.
- Continue along the E47/ E55 Motorring 3.
- Close to Lyngby continue along the E47/ E55/ 19 towards Helsingor.
- Take the E47/ E55/ Helsingørmotorvejen.
- Take the exit 7 towards Fredensborg / Kokkedal.
- Turn left towards Fredensborg.
- Arrive at Fredensborg Store Kro.
