This romantic castle’s history dates back to 1231 and offers breathtaking views over the fjord and the Faaborg harbour that leads out to the Funen Archipelago. At 5,000 m² Hvedholm is one of Denmark’s largest castles and includes 10 hectares of lush green parkland.

The grand brick and sandstone façade was rebuilt by Count Bille Brahe Selby during the late 19th century.

Hvedholm has elegant rooms with canopy beds, which are spacious and tastefully furnished.

The à la carte restaurant is among the region’s best. The banqueting hall from 1880 seats 150. Each Saturday, wine tastings are held in the cellar where guests can taste 6 selected wines from the hotel's own production and from imported sources.
