Originally opened as a restaurant in 1984, the residence built a reputation for its speciality French cuisine and has been expanding ever since into a small, family-run hotel. The size of the hotel helps to provide a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the hope that you will feel comfortable during your stay.

After a tiring day of work or sightseeing, you can relax in the new lounge bar, fitness (for free) or sauna. You can also have a drink in the brand new terrace.

This family-run hotel has an emphasis on personal service, therefore the management continues adjusting and restyling the rooms in order to fulfil your needs.

The friendly staff aim to make you feel at home and are available 24 hours a day for any query that you may have.

The sauna and fitness centre are open from 08:00 to 23:00 each day. There's no surcharge for the use of the fitness centre. Clients of this website receive a 50% reduction for the use of the sauna.

Gulden Anker has 34 comfortable rooms, fully equipped with: private bathroom, internet access (analogue and wireless) and all the listed facilities.
The rooms have recently been renovated and re-styled.

Since opening in 1984 the restaurant has been highly recommended by Michelin, offering fine cuisine in a stylish and comfortable environment.

If you would like to have dinner in our restaurant, reservation is recommended.

Breakfast is served from 07.00 - 09.30 Monday to Friday, and from 07.30 - 10.00 on weekends.
The restaurant is open Monday - Friday for lunch between 12.00 - 14.30, and for dinner between 18.00 - 21.30.
The restaurant is open on Saturday evening and Sunday for lunch time.


The bar is open from 08.00 - 02.00 each day.

Room service is available at an additional cost of EUR 2,00.

From Antwerp:
- take E19
- exit at junction 9 for Mechelen-Noord (Mechelen-North)
- turn right at the next crossroads
- at the next crossroads, with McDonald's on it, turn right
- keep straight until after the 4th set of lights when you need to turn right (in front of the historic building)
- after crossing the bridge, you will see the hotel in front of you.

From Brussels:
- take the E19
- exit at junction 10 toward Mechelen-Zuid (Mechelen-South)
- continue on this road
- go straight over the roundabout
- at the first crossroads over the bridge turn left
- at the following crossroads (50 metres further) turn right
- continue on this road for approximately 1km and you will see the flags of the Gulden Anker.

Please be advised the private parking is for 10 cars only and can not be reserved. If the parking is full, you can park for free on the streets next to the hotel.
