Alternatively you can hire a bike and follow one of the many routes around the beautiful countryside, along the river Schelde.

One room has a spacious roof terrace of 20 m² with a panoramic view over the Schelderiver.

The Scheldesuite has a romantic atmosphere with its oak roof and heritage bath.

All rooms benefit from a view of the banks of the river Schelde.

Free use of the touristic library.

Breakfast is served from 07.30 - 10.00 each day.

Meals are available upon request (3-course dinner at EUR 25 per person); extensive wine list available.

The historical city of Dendermonde offers many touristic attractions when it comes to culture; in December 2005 3 attractions of the inner city were classified under the Unesco World Heritage patrimonium: the belfry tower, the charming Saint-Alexius beguinage, the giants and the Bayard Steed.

By car:

From Brussels:
- take the E40 highway
- exit at Aalst, towards Dendermonde
- once you are on the Dendermondsesteenweg, follow signs for Dendermonde
- pass through Hofstade and Gijzegem
- in the centre of Gijzegem, follow signs for Schoonaarde (on the left-hand side, past a small chapel)
- continue on this road (approximately 5km) until you reach a T-junction, turn right towards Dendermonde
- approximately one km on the left-hand side you will find the Cosy Cottage.

From Antwerp:
- take the E17 highway
- exit at Lokeren/Zele, towards Dendermonde
- follow the directions for Aalst on the ringroad
- cross the river Dender
- at the next roundabout, follow signs for Wetteren (N416)
- approximatley 3.6 km on the right-hand side you will find the Cosy Cottage.

From Ghent:
- take the E40 highway
- exit at Aalst
- once you are on the Dendermondsesteenweg, follow signs for Dendermonde
- pass through the town of Hofstade and Gijzegem
- in the centre of Gijzegem, follow signs for Schoonaarde (on the left-hand side, past a small chapel)
- continue on this road (approximately 5 km), until you reach a T-junction, go right, towards Dendermonde
- approx one km on the left-hand side you find the Cosy Cottage.

By train:
The nearest station is Dendermonde, there is a direct line from Brussels (23 minutes).
From the station, take the bus to Gent St-Pieters (this is a regular service route). The bus stop is 30 metres from the accommodation. The hotel can arrange to pick you up from either Aalst or Dendermonde station at an additional cost of EUR 5.
