Our family-run 3-star guest house "Zur Künstleralm" lies in the beautiful Kaprun valley, only 1.2 km from the Glacier cable station Kitzsteinhorn.

Our house is ideally situated as a starting point for many walking and hiking tours in the Europa Sport Region, including the Kitzsteinhorn (glacier skiing at 1,200 metres), Mooserboden (Alpine water reservoirs - 2,000 metres) the Maiskogel (2,500 metres), the Sigmund-Thun-Klamm (1,200 metres), and many more.

The house is reachable with the bus, and there is a station in front of the house. The owner himself is responsible for the cuisine in the house. The junior manager is responsible for the reception, spoils you in the restaurant and is available at all times to answer any questions. We have a separate breakfast room (non-smoking), a house bar, a restaurant, and our own rustic "Schistadl" with an open fireplace. Outside we have a large garden with terrace.

In 1929 our grandfather built the "Künstleralm", which was formerly called "Limberg-Wüstlau" and later as a restaurant "Zum Joggl".

Food & beverage

Our boss, who has already worked as a butcher and a head cook for 40 years, will serve you local dishes, as well as with national and international food.

Breakfast:
We offer our guests a rich breakfast buffet, which we serve daily from 7.15 until 10.00a.m. If you wish to take your breakfast earlier, there is also the possibility to take a "Termo-breakfast" with you to our room in the evening
before.

Halfboard:
We offer our guests a menu card at breakfast from which you can choose between 2 or 3 course meals for dinner.

Additionally in Winter:
Once a week Fondue evening

Area information

The European Sports Region Zell am See offers a wide range of sporting options. The Zell am See/Kaprun golf course, the largest in the Alps, is 10 km away from the hotel.

The breathtaking reservoirs and hydropower plants in Mooserboden (Kaprun) afford a singular view of 3,000 m high mountains. The Krimml basin with its waterfalls and the Grossglockner High Alpine Road are both worth a visit.

The old town of Salzburg (about a one-hour drive away) is a must for culture lovers, while sports enthusiasts will want to head for the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier to ski and snowboard.

You go to Kaprun and see on the right side a "Shell-
petrol-station". You go straight ahead, through the
tunnel, direction Gletscherbahnen/Kitzsteinhorn, 3
km after the Maiskogel cable-car you find our house Gasthof Zur Künstleralm.

Cancellation policy:   Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 90 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled up to 30 days before date of arrival, 40 percent of all nights will be charged.
If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years are charged EUR 12.00 per night and person for cots.
All children from 4 to 6 years are charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person for extra beds.
All children from 7 to 12 years are charged 70 % of the room stay per night and person for extra beds.
All older children or adults are charged 90 % of the room stay per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.

Deposit Policy: 40 percent of the total amount will be charged on the day of booking and is refundable.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.

City/tourist tax is included.

Internet: Wireless Internet Hotspot is available in the entire hotel and costs EUR 5.00 per hour.

Meal Plan: Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate.
