In the southwest of Carinthia, embedded between Carnic Alps and the Dolomites, the Gail Valley is one of the most beautiful high Alpine valleys in Austria.
Within Austria, Lake Weissensee is one of the lakes with the largest variety of fish. Species include rainbow trout, pike, perch, lake trout, char and carp. Those who prefer fishing in running water go for the Rivers Gail, Garnitzenbach, Zerimbach, Angerbach or Valentinbach.
