The charming, family-run Hotel Donauhof is located on the western entrance to the Wachau World Heritage Site, directly on the Danube Bike Trail between Passau and Vienna.

The hotel offers an impressive view of the Danube and the historic market square of Emmersdorf, which is only a few steps away. Located halfway between Vienna and Linz, it is easily accessible via the A1 motorway. The Melk exit is 4 km away, the Pöchlarn exit 8 km.

The Wachau Valley is a 35-km long cultural landscape, which was made part of UNESCO’s World Heritage List for its wealth of cultural and historic attractions. These include wine terraces and many castles and churches, including the impressive Melk Abbey. The area is ideal for hiking and cycling, and there are also excursions by boat.

Tennis, squash and bowling are available in the Melk Sports Centre, 5 km away. An institute for sports rehabilitation, physiotherapy, health training, performance diagnostics, sports coaching and massages is also located there (please book in advance).

A swimming beach on the Danube is 2 km away.
